Hasegawa 1/72 P1y1-s P1y2 Ginga 11 16 Nf Model Kit

This dual kit pairs two night fighter variants of the Kugisho Ginga: the P1Y1-S and P1Y2. Both were conversions of the fast twin-engine bomber into interceptors armed with upward-firing oblique cannons (similar to the German Schräge Musik concept) designed to attack B-29 Superfortresses from below. The P1Y1-S was a field modification, while the P1Y2 was a factory-built night fighter variant. These desperate conversions reflected Japan's urgent need to counter the devastating B-29 firebombing campaign in the war's final months.
