Marketplace Overview

The Bounty Board is a peer-to-peer marketplace for model kit parts and hobby supplies. Buyers post requests (“bounties”) for specific parts, runners, or complete kits from any manufacturer. Sellers respond with offers. All transactions are facilitated through the platform with payment escrow for buyer protection. The marketplace is currently available to buyers and sellers within the United States only.

Fees

• Seller commission: 12% standard, 8% for AG Hangar Pro subscribers
• Commission is deducted from the part price only
• Stripe payment processing fees are absorbed by the platform — no hidden fees
• Buyers pay the listed part price plus shipping (or free shipping for AG Hangar members)
• Free for sellers to join and make offers

Shipping

• Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on package dimensions and buyer address
• Non-members: Buyer pays shipping at checkout
• AG Hangar members: Free shipping on bounty orders (uses monthly allocation: Base tier = 3/month, Pro = unlimited)
• Shipping labels are purchased through the platform via EasyPost
• Seller ships the part using the provided label after payment is confirmed
• The platform absorbs any rate difference between the quoted rate and actual cost

Payment & Escrow

• Payments are processed via Stripe (credit/debit cards and supported payment methods)
• All funds are held in escrow on the platform account
• After delivery is confirmed, a 5 business day hold period begins
• If no dispute is opened during the hold period, funds are automatically released to the seller's connected Stripe account
• Buyers can also confirm receipt early to release funds to the seller immediately from the bounty detail page
• An hourly job checks for eligible escrow releases
• Seller payout = Part price − platform commission

Disputes

• Buyers can open a dispute after the item has shipped
• Opening a dispute freezes the escrow — no funds are released while a dispute is active
• Disputes are reviewed and resolved by platform administrators
• Possible resolutions: full refund to buyer, partial refund, or release funds to seller
• Provide photos and detailed descriptions when opening a dispute for faster resolution

Seller Requirements

• Sellers must create a seller profile and connect a Stripe account to receive payouts
• Stripe Connect verification must be completed (charges and payouts enabled) before funds can be released
• Sellers with 3 or more strikes may be suspended from the marketplace
• Offers expire after 7 days if not accepted

Prohibited Items

• Dangerous or hazardous materials
• Items unrelated to the scale modeling hobby
• Stolen goods
