The Aichi E13A1 (Allied codename "Jake") was the Imperial Japanese Navy's most important reconnaissance floatplane of WWII, responsible for the pre-attack reconnaissance of Pearl Harbor. Catapult-launched from cruisers and battleships, the E13A served throughout the Pacific War in reconnaissance, anti-submarine patrol, and gunfire spotting roles. This set includes the shipboard catapult launcher, allowing modelers to recreate the dramatic catapult launch sequence. Over 1,400 E13A floatplanes were produced, making it the most-built Japanese floatplane of the war. Hasegawa captures the graceful three-seat floatplane with its launch catapult.
