The Wespe (Wasp) was Germany's standard self-propelled 105mm howitzer, mounting the leFH 18 field howitzer on a modified Panzer II chassis. Over 680 were built from 1943, providing mobile indirect fire support for Panzer divisions. The open-topped fighting compartment carried 32 rounds of ammunition. Wespes served on both Eastern and Western fronts, proving more effective than towed artillery thanks to their mobility. Tamiya's 1/35 kit features the detailed gun assembly, ammunition stowage, and fighting compartment interior.
