The Nashorn (Rhinoceros) was Germany's dedicated heavy tank destroyer, mounting the fearsome 88mm PaK 43/1 L/71 on an open-topped Panzer III/IV hybrid chassis. Its long-range firepower could defeat any Allied tank at distances exceeding 3,000 meters. Despite thin armor and an exposed crew compartment, Nashorns served effectively on the Eastern Front and in Italy from 1943 to war's end.
