The Heinkel He 219 Uhu (Eagle Owl) was Germany's most capable purpose-built night fighter, the first operational aircraft with ejection seats and tricycle landing gear. Armed with up to six 20mm and 30mm cannons — including Schräge Musik upward-firing weapons — the Uhu devastated RAF Bomber Command's night raids. On its first operational mission, Major Streib shot down five Lancasters. Tamiya's 1/48 kit features the distinctive twin-boom layout with detailed radar antennae and cannon armament.
