The Fw 190A-8/R2 "Sturmbock" (Battering Ram) was a specialized heavy fighter configured to attack American bomber formations head-on. It featured additional cockpit armor, armored glass windscreen, and the devastating firepower of two 30mm MK 108 and two 20mm MG 151/20 cannons. Sturmgruppen pilots flew in tight formation with Bf 109 escort, pressing attacks to point-blank range against B-17s and B-24s. Tamiya's 1/48 kit features the additional armor panels and heavy armament.
