The Hawker Sea Harrier FRS.1 was the Royal Navy's revolutionary V/STOL carrier fighter that proved itself spectacularly in the 1982 Falklands War, shooting down 20 Argentine aircraft without a single air-to-air loss. Its Pegasus vectored-thrust engine enabled operation from small carriers and forward operating bases. Armed with AIM-9L Sidewinder missiles and 30mm ADEN guns, the Sea Harrier defended the British task force. Tamiya's 1/48 kit features vectoring nozzles and Falklands-era markings.
