Hasegawa 1/72 Mitsubishi G4m2e Betty Model Kit

The Mitsubishi G4M2E was the specially modified variant of the Betty medium bomber configured to carry the Yokosuka MXY-7 Ohka ("Cherry Blossom") rocket-powered kamikaze aircraft. The G4M2E featured a ventral recess and shackles to carry the piloted flying bomb to within range of Allied ships. The combination of the vulnerable G4M with the Ohka created one of WWII's most tragic weapon systems—many G4M2Es were shot down before reaching launch range. Hasegawa captures this purpose-built carrier aircraft with the Ohka and mounting hardware.
