Tamiya 1/700 Waterline Series model of the IJN Shimakaze, the fastest destroyer of WWII capable of 40.9 knots. Armed with an unprecedented fifteen 610mm torpedo tubes in three quintuple mounts, Shimakaze was designed as the ultimate torpedo destroyer. Only one was built due to her complexity and cost. She was sunk by American aircraft during the Battle of Ormoc Bay in November 1944.
