Tamiya 1/700 Yubari Light Cruiser Model Kit

Tamiya 1/700 Waterline Series model of the IJN Yubari, an experimental light cruiser designed by the legendary naval architect Yuzuru Hiraga. At just 2,890 tons, Yubari packed the firepower of a 5,500-ton cruiser through innovative weight-saving techniques including an integrated armor belt serving as hull plating. Her design principles influenced all subsequent Japanese warship construction. Sunk by the submarine USS Bluegill in April 1944.
