Tamiya 1/35 scale model of the M4A3 Sherman with 76mm gun (officially M4A3(76)W). The improved 76mm M1 gun provided significantly better anti-armor performance than the original 75mm, though still insufficient against Panthers and Tigers at range. The "W" denotes wet ammunition stowage that dramatically reduced catastrophic ammunition fires. This was the preferred US Army Sherman variant for the final campaigns in Europe.
