The Hotchkiss H39 was an improved version of France's H35 cavalry tank, featuring a more powerful 120 hp engine and the longer SA38 37mm gun. Over 1,000 were in service during the 1940 campaign, equipping both cavalry and infantry tank battalions. After France's fall, H39s were used by Germany, and Free French forces operated them in North Africa. Tamiya's 1/35 kit includes the tank with its distinctive cast hull and turret plus French crew figures in period uniforms.
