Tamiya 1/700 Waterline Series model of HMAS Vampire, a V-class destroyer of the Royal Australian Navy. Transferred from the Royal Navy in 1933, Vampire served in the Mediterranean and Pacific before being sunk by Japanese aircraft south of Ceylon on April 9, 1942, alongside HMS Hermes—the first purpose-built aircraft carrier to be sunk by air attack. A significant subject in Australian naval history.
