Hasegawa 1/700 Battle Ship Kongo Ijn Model Kit

The IJN Kongo was an Imperial Japanese Navy fast battleship, originally built by Vickers in Britain as a battlecruiser in 1913 and extensively rebuilt twice in the interwar period. The Kongo served throughout the Pacific War, from the bombardment of Henderson Field on Guadalcanal to the Battle of Leyte Gulf, where she became the last Japanese battleship sunk by a submarine (USS Sealion) in November 1944. Armed with eight 14-inch guns and capable of 30 knots, the Kongo-class ships were Japan's most active capital ships. Hasegawa captures the rebuilt fast battleship at 1/700 waterline scale.
