The IJN Akagi was the Imperial Japanese Navy's fleet carrier that served as Admiral Nagumo's flagship during the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Originally laid down as an Amagi-class battlecruiser, Akagi was converted to an aircraft carrier following the Washington Naval Treaty. She featured a distinctive three-flight-deck arrangement later modified to a single full-length deck. The Akagi led the Kido Butai (Mobile Force) through its victories across the Pacific before being fatally hit by dive bombers from USS Enterprise at the Battle of Midway in June 1942. Hasegawa's 1/350 scale captures this pivotal warship in impressive detail.
