The Kangaroo was the first purpose-built armored personnel carrier, created by removing the turret from obsolete M7 Priest self-propelled guns and Ram tanks to create a protected troop carrier. First used by the Canadian 1st Armored Personnel Carrier Squadron in August 1944, the Kangaroo could carry a squad of infantry under armor protection to the objective. This improvised APC concept was so successful it spawned all modern APCs. This 1/35 Italeri kit captures this innovative battlefield adaptation.
