The Flakpanzer 38(t) "Gepard" mounted a 20mm Flak 38 anti-aircraft gun on the reliable Czech-designed Panzer 38(t) chassis. Produced in 1943-1944, it provided mobile anti-aircraft protection for Panzer divisions, filling the gap until more heavily armed Flakpanzers based on the Panzer IV became available. The open-topped fighting compartment gave the crew excellent visibility for tracking fast-moving aircraft. Italeri's 1/35 kit features the detailed Flak 38 mount and 38(t) running gear.
