The Kawasaki KR250 was a revolutionary two-stroke sportbike produced from 1984 to 1985, featuring a unique tandem-twin engine layout where two single-cylinder units were mounted one behind the other. This configuration, derived from Kawasaki's KR250 Grand Prix racer ridden by Anton Mang, minimized the engine's width for improved aerodynamics. The 249cc tandem twin produced 45 horsepower and drove through a cassette-type gearbox—another racing innovation. The KR250A was the first production motorcycle with this engine layout. Hasegawa's 1/12 scale kit captures the innovative powerplant and the angular fairing design of this engineering tour de force.
