Tamiya 1/35 scale model of the Marder III (Sd.Kfz. 138) tank destroyer, mounting the 75mm PaK 40 anti-tank gun on the Czech Panzer 38(t) chassis. The Marder III was a pragmatic stopgap that provided German infantry divisions with mobile anti-tank capability using captured and obsolete tank chassis. The open-topped fighting compartment left the crew exposed, but the powerful PaK 40 could defeat any Allied tank at combat range.
