Italeri 1/48 SBD-3 Dauntless Usn Model Kit

The Douglas SBD-3 Dauntless was the dive bomber that changed the course of the Pacific War at Midway, sinking four Japanese carriers in a single devastating attack on June 4, 1942. Despite being considered obsolete by 1942 standards — slow, lightly armed, and vulnerable — the Dauntless sank more enemy shipping than any other Allied aircraft type. Its perforated split dive flaps enabled steep 70-degree dives with remarkable accuracy. The SBD-3 variant added self-sealing fuel tanks and armor plating based on early combat lessons.
