The JS-2's 122mm D-25T gun was the most powerful tank-mounted weapon fielded by any Allied nation, capable of destroying any German tank including the Tiger and King Tiger. The Model 1944 featured the improved straightened upper glacis plate for better armor protection. JS-2 battalions led the final assault on Berlin in April-May 1945.
