The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk — known as the Kittyhawk in Commonwealth service — was the backbone of Allied fighter strength in the critical early war years, serving in North Africa, the Pacific, China-Burma-India, and the Soviet Union. While outclassed in speed and climb by its Axis opponents, the P-40's rugged Allison engine, six .50-caliber guns, and excellent diving speed made it a dangerous adversary in skilled hands. The E and K models differed primarily in engine variant. This 1/48 Italeri kit includes the distinctive shark mouth nose art option and desert or Pacific theater markings.
