The F-51D Mustang returned to combat in Korea as the USAF's primary ground attack fighter in 1950-51, carrying napalm, rockets, and bombs in close air support missions. Operating from rough forward airstrips that jets couldn't use, the Mustang proved invaluable during the Pusan Perimeter defense and the advance north.
