The Dassault/Dornier Alpha Jet is a Franco-German collaboration that produced one of the most successful jet trainers and light attack aircraft of the Cold War era. The Alpha Jet E (Ecole/school) served as the advanced trainer for the French Armée de l'Air, while Germany used it primarily in the close support role.
