Tamiya 1/35 scale model of the Merkava (Chariot) Mk.I, Israel's indigenous main battle tank. Designed with crew survivability as the top priority, the Merkava uniquely places the engine in the front to provide additional protection and includes a rear compartment for evacuating wounded. Armed with a 105mm M68 gun, its combat debut came during the 1982 Lebanon War. The Merkava represented Israel's "never again" philosophy of protecting its soldiers above all.
