The Audi Quattro revolutionized rallying when it debuted in 1981, proving that permanent four-wheel drive combined with turbocharging could dominate on every surface — gravel, tarmac, snow, and ice. The original Ur-Quattro's turbocharged 2.1-liter five-cylinder produced 300+ HP in rally spec, channeled through all four wheels via a center differential.
