The Ford Escort Zakspeed Group 2 was a European touring car racing special built by the legendary Zakspeed team from Niederzissen, Germany. Erich Zakowski's team extracted extraordinary performance from the Escort platform, with turbocharged 1.4-liter engines producing over 300 HP in a car weighing barely 900 kg. Zakspeed Escorts dominated the DRM (Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft) and European Touring Car Championship through the late 1970s.
