The Messerschmitt Me 410 Hornisse ("Hornet") was a twin-engine heavy fighter and fast bomber-destroyer that served with the Luftwaffe from 1943. Developed as a replacement for the troubled Me 210, it proved effective as a bomber interceptor when armed with 30mm MK 103 cannons and BK 5 50mm guns against USAAF heavy bomber formations.
