Hasegawa 1/72 F-35 Lightning II B Prototype Model Kit

The F-35B Lightning II prototype represents the early test phase of the short takeoff and vertical landing (STOVL) variant of the Joint Strike Fighter. The BF-1 and subsequent prototypes tested the revolutionary Rolls-Royce LiftSystem including the shaft-driven lift fan and three-bearing swivel nozzle that enable vertical flight. The prototype aircraft wore distinctive test instrumentation markings and carried flight test probes. The F-35B development was one of the most challenging engineering programs in aviation history, combining stealth, supersonic flight, and VTOL capability.
