Tamiya 1/48 scale model of the Volkswagen Type 82 Kübelwagen, the German military's ubiquitous light utility vehicle. Designed by Ferdinand Porsche based on the VW Beetle platform, the Kübelwagen served in every theater from the deserts of North Africa to the frozen Eastern Front. Its air-cooled flat-four engine and lightweight construction gave it surprising off-road capability despite rear-wheel drive. Over 50,000 were produced.
