"Gas Rhonda" was the racing persona of Rhonda Ferrill-Smith, one of the pioneering women in professional drag racing during the late 1960s and '70s. Her '69 Mustang Funny Car featured the exaggerated long-nose body that was characteristic of the era — a fiberglass shell that hinged up to reveal the tube-frame chassis and supercharged, nitromethane-burning Hemi engine beneath.
