The Vought F-8J Crusader is the final production variant of the iconic naval fighter, featuring boundary layer control for improved low-speed handling and strengthened landing gear for heavier carrier operations. The F-8J served into the mid-1970s as the type was gradually replaced by the F-14 Tomcat.
