TOKYO — Bandai Spirits will release the Perfect Grade Unleashed 1/60 RX-93 Nu Gundam in January 2026, marking the second entry in the PG Unleashed line and commemorating the 45th anniversary of Gunpla. The kit, priced at ¥60,000 before tax, will also have an optional LED unit sold separately, according to the company’s official product announcement.
The Nu Gundam features Bandai’s “Ultimate Unit System,” a modular construction method that assembles the head, shoulders, chest, arms, hands, waist and legs as independent units before combining them into a finished frame. Bandai says the system is designed to simulate “building a real mobile suit,” offering hobbyists a layered, realistic assembly experience.
Fin Funnels and Armament

The kit includes a full complement of fin funnels with sliding and rotating parts to recreate three deployment states. A support arm and display base are included for stable posing when the funnels are combined into a wing formation. Weapons include a beam rifle with a sliding fore-end, a shield with an integrated beam cannon and four missiles, two beam sabers — one with a curved-effect part — and a redesigned New Hyper Bazooka with a support arm.
Premium Detailing

Surface realism is a focal point of the kit’s engineering. The inner frame features metallic-colored truss parts, while multi-colored plastics add depth to mechanical sections such as joints and thrusters. Bandai also includes multi-layer metallic 3D stickers and “gateless” etched stickers to create metal-like textures on light-emitting areas and panel seams. Metal parts are used for the main thruster nozzles and the Vulcan barrels in the head unit. A cover sticker allows builders to replicate the Nu Gundam’s sensor shroud reveal from the film’s title sequence.
The completed model stands roughly 557 millimeters long with its fin funnels attached, giving it a commanding presence in any display.
Engineering Vision

In a statement, the development team said the PG Unleashed Nu Gundam was designed to “push the boundaries of both mechanical expression and ease of assembly.” Engineers emphasized mobility improvements that allow the kit to achieve natural kneeling poses and hand structures capable of expressive weapon grips, even with the large fin funnels attached.

Legacy and Significance
The RX-93 Nu Gundam holds a special place in the Gundam franchise as Amuro Ray’s final mobile suit in Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack. With the PG Unleashed treatment, Bandai aims to deliver both a technical showpiece and a tribute to one of Universal Century’s most iconic designs.
