SANTA CLARITA, Calif. — Hasegawa has begun shipments of its 1/350 Japanese Navy light cruiser Agano reissue, with company dispatch set for Monday, Aug. 25 in Japan at a tax-in list price of ¥10,780. The kit represents Agano as completed in 1942 and returns to market with a notable parts update.

The refresh centers on 48 newly molded plastic components that sharpen ship-specific details. Among the additions: a redesigned chimney, flight-deck elements, parts for the fore and aft bridge areas, a searchlight tower and a Type 21 catapult, plus unshielded torpedo launchers—elements that distinguish Agano from sister ships in the class.

In the box, modelers will also find two Type 0 three-seat reconnaissance seaplanes and a display stand. Those inclusions match the subject’s historical aviation fit while giving builders options for underway or anchored presentation.

Hasegawa lists the shipment date and notes that store-side timing can vary by retailer. The company’s product page also pegs general retail release for the latter half of the week, aligning with the typical lag between factory ship and shelf availability.

Dimensions place the finished model at about 498.5 millimeters long and 54 millimeters wide, consistent with other 1/350 Imperial Japanese Navy light cruisers. Retail listings indicate the reissue’s parts set covers both the aircraft handling area and distinctive forward torpedo gear, reducing the need for aftermarket corrections.

For context, Agano led a four-ship class built for high speed and squadron command roles during World War II. Hasegawa has cycled related subjects in recent months, and this reissue keeps the core light-cruiser lineup accessible while raising detail in areas builders have long tweaked with photo-etch.

Hasegawa has not detailed export timing. As usual, Japanese retailers will receive stock first; overseas availability will depend on importer orders and freight schedules.
